Patch ratWednesday, September 13, 2006She had been battling with a tumour under her back leg for a while and the stress of it had exacerbated her respiratory problems. Although she had been on aggressive medication for both problems and coping very well, she went downhill very quickly overnight on Sunday. We discussed it with our vet first thing yesterday morning and we all agreed that the kindest thing to do was to have her put to sleep. I was right there stroking her as she slipped away and she went very peacefully. She will be sorely missed. Stella Hulott from CavyRescue - which rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes small animals such as guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits and rats - says: "We are thrilled that the event raised such a fabulous amount of money for the small furries in our care. It was great to see such a good turn out and we wish Vicky all the best with the launch of her new book. A big thanks also to Andrea, Hilde and the team at Stanhope Vets, who organised the event."
